ENERGY STAR® Homes (New Construction)
ENERGY STAR: Energy Efficiency that Pays
This ENERGY STAR Homes program offers performance based incentives up to $4,000 based on Home Energy Rating evaluations and is guided by standards established by the US Environmental Protection Agency and the US Department of Energy.
When you are building a new house, build energy efficiency into it! An ENERGY STAR certified new home is comfortable by design and saves thousands in energy costs over its lifetime. Incentives are available for a range of improvements from air sealing, insulation and lighting to HVAC measures and renewable energy installations. Every ENERGY STAR certified new home enjoys reduced energy costs, improved comfort and increased value.
Here are some benefits of building an ENERGY STAR home:
- Quality that lasts: When you add energy efficiency features to a new home, you add more than energy savings. You get better performance and a superior level of quality.
- Wall-to-wall comfort: You’ll see, feel and hear the difference of a heating and cooling system that has been engineered and installed to efficiently deliver comfort.
- Proven value: Better energy efficiency and performance means lower utility and maintenance costs. Homes earning the ENERGY STAR label use 15-30% less energy than typical new homes, and even more when compared to most resale homes on the market today.
New Hampshire Electric Cooperative offers up to $4,000 in program incentives, plus free professional consultation and certification services ($1,300 value).
